Urgent Debt Relief
This is a message from a close personal friend of mine who doesn’t have a tumblr–it would mean a lot to me if you could share this & help her out!!
“I’m Josie, a Black student living with a severe mental health diagnosis (schizo-affective disorder) and have incurred a sizeable amount of debt ($855.56). I’ve been contacted by collections and have been asked to pay the amount as soon as possible. As I am on disability, $855.56 is an impossible amount of money to spend on debt and my monthly assistance is not enough to cover the debt. I’m asking for help to pay it. knowing ppl who have extremely wealthy friends or access to them or even their own wealth is really useless bc they will see me crowdfunding repeatedly for family emergencies & won’t even share the funds w/those people who’s bags cost more than my brother bail or my dad funeral.

Update:
the funeral is today, thank you to everyone who shared and donated.
as for my brother in jail,
I got an alarming call from my brother that staff and correctional officers are harassing him

1. denying his calls out or rerouting them to be canceled especially when any mention of money is surveilled or muting him mid-conversation

2. are refusing to release the money sent to be put on his books by family and friends to buy necessities like soap and food from commissary

3. denying his requests for medical care for 3 separate issues

this is systemic abuse & we must get him home!
